Costs for golf club repair – services, effort & sensible alternatives
The cost of repairs depends on the service required (e.g., grip replacement, shaft service, loft/lie adjustment), the materials used (grips/shafts/adapters), and the complexity of the job . This page explains which factors influence the price and how you can get a personalized cost estimate from us.
Workshop: Request repair & service. Optional: Fitting & setup check.
What influences the repair costs?
| Performance | Typical size | Price factors (without numbers) |
|---|---|---|
| Grip change (Regrip) | Remove the old handle, prepare the shaft, and mount the new handle. | Grip type/size (standard–jumbo), structure (cord/rubber), quantity (single vs. set) |
| Glue in/replace the shaft | Remove the old stock, clean the hosel, glue in/align the new stock. | Shank type (steel/graphite), adapter/tip, cut/length, alignment (spine/flow), gluing |
| Loft & Lie Adjustment | Targeted bending within the permissible range, checking against the gauge | Material/head design, desired degree change, number of heads |
| Adapter/ferrule work | Replace defective adapter, set/align ferrule | Adapter compatibility, spare parts, disassembly effort |
| Shorten/Lengthen | Adjust shaft length, reposition grip, check balance | Length measurement, extension sleeve/butt trim, re-grip/balance |
| General repairs | Securing small parts, securing screws/weights, cosmetic work | Type of defect, parts availability, working time |

Repair or replacement – which is worthwhile?
- Repair is worthwhile if the head/model fits well and the defect is clearly fixable (e.g., new grip, shaft service, loft/lie).
- Replacement is advisable if the head doesn't fit at all , is badly damaged, or if a modern used model delivers noticeably better results.

FAQ
Can each shaft be replaced or glued in place?
Often yes – the crucial factors are head/adapter compatibility, tip dimensions, and desired length. We'll clarify this via the workshop inquiry .
Can loft and lie be adjusted on all irons/wedges?
Yes, for many models, within the permissible range of the material. We determine how much leeway is sensible in the workshop or during fitting .
Repair or a used replacement model?
If the head fits and only the handle/shaft/loft lie is affected, repair is often worthwhile. In cases of fundamental misfit or severe damage, a tested used model is usually more sensible.
Do you offer flat rates?
No – we are deliberately not mentioning any figures here. You can quickly get a concrete cost estimate from the workshop .
Can I have multiple rackets in a set customized at the same time?
Yes – for example, a complete regrip or loft/lie adjustment for an iron set. Please specify the quantity and desired service in your inquiry .
